Abstract
In this paper we propose a flexible task distribution mechanism in order to reduce the time spent in rendering complex 3D scenes. This kind of mechanisms are particularly useful when adopting a fine-coarse approach, that is, when distributing the rendering of a single image. The proposed mechanism has been integrated into a multi-agent architecture previously designed for distributed rendering and compared to the former task distribution method, which was based on single auctions of tasks or work units. The obtained results show relevant advances and justify the need for new approaches when distributing the rendering of complex 3D scenes.
