Abstract :
At high voltage levels, power factor related issues are felt as economical impacts, that any small change of improvement reveals itself into significant savings in power as well as money, The electricity authorities are ready to identify all such projects of amelioration and look for good return on their investments. The HV transmission links are therefore constantly analysed for VAr compensation and voltage profile with an intent to retrieve useful energy and ascertain power system stability. A multi-functional technical approach in realising the above goals, with a short term investment criteria is brought out in this paper
