Abstract :
As part of an ongoing study of the electromagnetic architecture of buildings, the transmission characteristics of small finite arrays of apertures for use at particularly long wavelengths are discussed. The aim is to investigate the minimal dimension of FSS able to produce bandpass filtering. A fractal loop design with unit cell size of over 15 times its operational wavelength is employed. Measured transmission response of 3times3 and 2times2 unit cells are compared with the response for a larger array and plane wave simulations.
