Abstract :
There are several calculation modes in the traditional tri-level space vector algorithm. A novel method, named the unified voltage modulation technique (UVMT), is adopted in this paper and concise voltage modulation arithmetic is achieved. Both space voltage PWM and the real-time control of the middle point voltage of the DC-link can be realized easily, which is important to a multilevel inverter. The UVMT is described in detail and then it is applied on the three level inverter. The computer simulation result shows that the method mentioned above is very simple to be carried out while the control effect is the same as that of the SVPWM abstractly
