Abstract :
The solid state AC voltage stabiliser discussed in this paper is novel due to the following performance characteristics: unity power factor at the input side; low current harmonics injected into the input side; excellent output voltage regulation for line voltage and load current variations; good dynamic response for line voltage and load current variations; low total harmonic distortion in the output voltage waveshape; low weight to power ratio; and low volume to power ratio. The suggested static voltage stabiliser operates similar to a servo controlled stabiliser, however the servo stabiliser is replaced with an electronic AC voltage generator
