Abstract :
This paper presents the emulation of grid-connected wind energy conversion system based on the 30 MIPS Digital Signal controller (DSC) dsPIC30f3011. This system is composed by a three-phase permanent magnet generator, an AC to DC converter and a single phase Voltage Source Inverter (VSI). The inverter was driven using Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) at a switching frequency of 18 kHz and synchronization to the electric grid was achieved by means of a Phase Locked Loop algorithm (PLL). The maximum power transfer is achieved using a Maximum Power Tracking (MPPT) algorithm. The space vector modulation algorithm, the Phase Locked Loop, the MPPT algorithms, and the monitoring of the DC link voltage are handled by the 30 MIPS DSC successfully.
