Abstract
This paper presents a review in state of the art techniques for position sensorless permanent magnet synchronous motor drives. In particular nonadaptive methods like estimators using monitored stator voltages or currents, flux estimators and back-EMF based estimators are described. Furthermore the authors give an overview for current methods to the integrator drift problem.
