Abstract
Outdoor properly targeted scatterers could greatly increase the signal coverage of millimeter-wave communication systems. The authors believe that combined with UWB modulation techniques, propagation of millimeter-wave could provide a relatively inexpensive and flexible alternative to cable communications. UWB operation could provide redundancy to systems no requiring extreme data transmission rates.
