Abstract :
Since more and more complex or intelligent power electronic devices have been equipped, mobile power stations are more sensitive to overvoltage caused by lightning. The electromagnetic transient model of the mobile power station was built by PSCAD/EMTDC. After analyzing the faults induced by lightning overvoltage, a deep study of the simulation model was carried out to find the acting principles in power electronic devices and components. From simulation results we find out several laws to raise the lightning with-standing level of power stations concerning influencing factors such as the grounding resistance, SPD, etc.. Aimed at the direct striking and the inducing lightning the key parts of mobile power stations were decided to take some innovation measures correspondingly. In the last, a modularized device was designed and equipped for the power station.
