Abstract
A novel through wall imaging method employing a discrete set of quick-look images (via a fixed aperture antenna array) was presented. This snapshot method was compared to the conventional SAR imaging approach. It was shown that the new method produced images of nearly the same quality as those of SAR for through wall imaging. In addition, an imaging system design has been proposed which employs a unique planar broadband array. This system is designed to be small, low-cost, efficient, and portable. In the future, new near-field super-resolution techniques will be applied with the goal of producing high resolution images from this fixed aperture system.
