Abstract :
The dynamic characteristics of permanent-magnet reluctance machines are investigated. Using the d-q model representation, it is demonstrated that, subject to constant inputs and loads, the open-loop dynamic characteristics of this class of electromechanical systems give rise to the presence of multiple physical equilibria. Conditions which lead to the bifurcation of equilibria are presented and discussed.
