Abstract
This work uses spatial radio channel measurements to evaluate how much IEEE 802.11b wireless local area network (WLAN) capacity could be improved by using spatial division multiple access (SDMA). The radio channel measurements are collected for three different indoor network configurations using a sectorized antenna suitable for use in an actual 802.11b access point. The measurements are then used directly in 802.11b physical layer simulations in order to evaluate SDMA performance.
