  • Abstract
The design of a stacked aperture coupled microstrip patch antenna is very challenging when dealing with wide-band impedance matching. Impedance matching is a major challenge because the effect of changing one of the parameters in not independent of the others. When this is the case the role of a computer aided design package is vital. We use HFSS to design a stacked patch antenna to operate between 1.5 and 1.7 GHz. HFSS permits parametric studies that give insight on optimizing the parameters of the antenna and feed geometry.
