Applicative Solution for Easy Introduction of WLAN as Value-Added Service in Mobile Networks

In this paper we propose an applicative solution for an effective introduction of wireless LAN (WLAN) as value-added service in mobile cellular networks. The integration between two networks, cellular and WLAN, is performed on the authentication, authorization and accounting i.e. AAA side. For that purpose we have developed WLAN access controller and WLAN AAA gateway, which provide access control as well as charging and billing functionalities for the WLAN service, respectively. The developed solution provides cost-effective and easy-to-deploy PLMN-WLAN internetworking solution.
