Abstract
Loss of power and control would upset any individual or business. This paper describes the steps taken to rapidly restore a business´ ability to function in the aftermath of a devastating flood, in which a pulp and paper mill had three quarters of its buildings inundated by flood waters containing chemicals, oils, silt, fungus and bacteria and debris. Submerged by these river waters were electrical centers, drives and control systems, power and steam distribution systems, paper machines, coaters, winders and other equipment. Other sites faced with similar catastrophes can apply these steps and these criteria for decision making.
