Abstract
This paper considers the problem of estimating directions of arrival (DOAs) from sensor-array data when the positions of the sensors are not precisely known. The proposed algorithm is an extension of a previously developed approach based on weighted subspace fitting. The new algorithm shows improved robustness with respect to sensor position perturbations, particularly when estimating the DOAs of weak sources. The robust algorithm treats the sensor position perturbations as unknown deterministic parameters and estimates them jointly with the DOAs.
