Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a control and simulation method of hardware IPs(intellectual properties) in HDL, by the use of LabVIEW, Simulink, and active-HDL. The hardware IPs modeled with active-HDL are connected to Simulink by HDL Blackbox, one of Simulink block sets. In addition, LabVIEW is also connected to Simulink using LabVIEW SIT(simulation interface toolkit). With Simulink as the center, a software block programmed with LabVIEW and hardware IPs modeled with active-HDL are connected to each other. This methodology allows the control of hardware IPs through software and the simulation of the IPs in a GUI environment. We can use this method to simulate hardware IPs in almost real time without using a prototyping board.
