Abstract
In this paper, the analytical model of a MagLev system is derived using Ampere´s law and the MagLev equivalent magnetic circuit. A finite element model is then used to study the static characteristics of the MagLev, namely, its magnetic force, flux density distribution and system inductance. Based on MagLev´s equivalent electrical circuit, dynamic model of the MagLev system has been developed. Lyapaunov´s stability analysis method has been used to investigate the stability of the MagLev system in closed loop operation. Finally, the analytical and dynamic models will be verified using simulation results.
