Abstract :
This paper presented a simple delay domain pathloss model that focused on the first and the strongest paths for ranging purposes. This model is capable of simulating effects of the system bandwidths and the center frequencies by following the band plan of the IEEE802.15.4a-2007 standard. Differences of the first and strongest paths were also modeled in the delay and the power domains. A complete model parameter set was derived from the extensive channel measurement and modeling campaign in a line-of-sight indoor office environment. As future works, model verification is planned in order to ensure the applicability of the proposed model for the performance evaluation of ranging.
