Abstract
The main problem with time based distance measurements in indoor environment is that multipath propagation can lead to improper estimation of distance. If we consider situation when weak direct signal is followed by strong reflected signal it will appear that a receiver will measure greater distance than it should. The paper presents new approach to distance measurements based on revealing first signal to arrive. Proposed algorithm is based on finding clear (multipath free) part of received signal and then finding its beginning.
