Abstract :
High grade control of Switched Reluctance Motors (SRM) is a key element in successful integration of this family of adjustable speed motor drives in particular for automotive applications. Optimal current for maximum torque per Amp control has been investigated using Field Reconstruction Method (FRM), which delivers a fast and precise numerical tool for optimization purposes. This paper introduces an optimization technique for commutation angles based on FRM to maximize torque per Amp. The proposed technique has been applied at various speeds and simulation/experimental results are provided to validate the claims.
