Abstract :
In this paper, we develop crack detection methods to measure the growing behavior of a fatigue crack using a digital image processing system and Visual C. If the proposed method is used to develop a crack monitoring system and to observe the crack-growing behavior automatically, then the time and effort required for fatigue testing could be dramatically reduced. It is also possible to efficiently estimate and manage the safety and lifetime of industrial facilities based on the collected data
