Abstract :
An interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor driven by a voltage source inverter is analyzed using the three-dimensional finite element method (3-D FEM) on the PC cluster composed of 16 PCs. The effects of the carrier harmonics on the current, the torque and the loss are numerically clarified. The validity of the calculation is clarified though the comparison between the measured results and the calculated ones.
