Abstract :
A post-wall waveguide-fed parallel plate slot array is one of the attractive candidates for high efficiency and mass producible planar array antennas in millimeter-wave applications. The design optimization of the actual post-wall waveguides, however, is time consuming and the simplified PEC solid wall design model has been utilized empirically. Unfortunately, this type of the antenna has been suffered from large reflection, which is mainly due to an immature design model of T-junctions consisting of the H-plane aperture in the post-wall feed waveguide. In this paper, the equivalence is discussed and a novel equivalent solid wall model is proposed for the T-junctions.
