The global health community has prioritised increased availability of vaccines to all the world´s children and this commitment has had the effect of placing additional stress on an already fragile cold chain and the equipment used to distribute and store vaccines. A significant problem associated with vaccine and immunisation programmes worldwide but more so in developing nations is the cold chain and the safe storage of vaccines.
