Abstract
Simulation is used to assess the effects of frequency hopping on the performance of the Groupe Speciale Mobile (GSM) communication network. It is found that, even in a suburban area, frequency hopping improves the system´s behavior. The simulations indicate that the parameter set of the base station systems (BSSs) should be set differently if frequency hopping is implemented to obtain the best performance of the system
