Abstract
A new paradigm is presented for the design (that includes modeling and control of known systems, extraction of information in a changing and or noisy environment) of nonlinear dynamical systems and self-organizing systems. It is based on: (a) invention of a number of well defined passive, nonlinear electrical elements, (b) building complex nonlinear electrical networks from such elements or basic building blocks, (c) extracting stable nonlinear and self-organizing dynamics from such nonlinear, passive electrical networks, and (d) using reverse engineering techniques to design other complex electrical and nonelectrical systems. Such an approach is shown to be better than the approach of learning from (neural) systems whose functioning is not yet fully understand
