Abstract
This work describes fast parallel acquisition techniques and architectures for direct-sequence spread-spectrum systems and their performance as a part of a fast acquisition CDMA receiver for burst transmission systems. New architectures are presented, showing design tradeoffs. The architecture evaluation is based on the acquisition success probability in a short finite time instead of evaluating the traditional average acquisition time measure. All architectures use parallel processing with sequence matched filters and partial sequence matched filters, and the FFT algorithm.
