  • Abstract
The relative carrying capacity of land resources, relative carrying capacity of economy resources and synthetical carrying capacity of resources of Wenzhou from 1992 to 2004 were analyzed according to the methods and theories of the relative carrying capacity of resources by comparing that in the whole country, eastern coastal areas, Pearl River drainage area and Shanghai in this paper. The results showed that the carrying capacity of natural resources was much lower than the carrying capacity of economy resources of Wenzhou and had been the state of overload from 1992 to 2004.The carrying capacity of economy resources was always in the state of over load between 1992 and 1993, while since 1994 real population surpassed its carrying capacity of economy resources and Wenzhou has gone into the state of relative abundance. Since 1992 the synthetical carrying capacity of resources was increasing year by year, but it was still in the state of overload. Moreover, the incoordination between the relative carrying capacity of land resources and the relative carrying capacity of economy resources was an important problem which inhibited the sustainable development of Wenzhou. Therefore, Wenzhou government should attach greater importance to sustainable development work, and raise the utilization efficiency of resources, and accelerate the industrial restructuring, and develop circular economy to construct resource saving society.
