Abstract :
This paper presents six application mechanisms required by the use cases planned for deployment using the wireless access in vehicular environments standards. The use cases analyzed represent all known use cases that have been proposed in various organizations. With building blocks of secure communication, prioritization of the communication channel, and multi-hop networking, standardization of the six mechanisms will allow application developers to define applications and application messages.
