Abstract :
The track data fusion/consolidation concept that has evolved for the Iceland Air Defense System (IADS) is described. The IADS is outwardly a traditional, ground-based command, control and communication system. It differs from other systems due to requirements to simultaneously exchange track data using seven different sets of dissimilar data link protocols. Operational and data link considerations have affected how much fusion of track data can take place. Several alternative track management concepts are described, and the concept chosen for the IADS, along with the rationale for the choice are presented
