Abstract
Collision avoidance mechanisms in broadcasting MAC protocol are important for transmission performance. In this paper, collision avoidance mechanisms in broadcasting MAC protocol are classified and concluded. Based on simulation experience, impact of network load on collision avoidance mechanism performance is analyzed. Simulation results show that, network load is the key affecting collision avoidance mechanism performance. To avoid collision efficiently, network load should be reduced firstly, and several collision avoidance mechanisms should be adopted synthetically in the broadcasting MAC protocol.
