Abstract
Hydrogen explosions within cabinets and shelters are extremely dangerous to the public, for the cabinets and shelters are often placed near residences and along sidewalks. Two passive means exist for the hydrogen to power its own removal from the space. One uses the innate density difference of hydrogen rich air, and the other the propensity of hydrogen to rapidly diffuse through certain materials. In both cases no outside power is required, nor are there any moving parts other than the hydrogen itself. There are two United States Patents pending for these two methods of venting hydrogen from cabinets and shelters
