Abstract :
A coplanar waveguide fed compact modified bow-tie slot antenna is proposed for use in the ultra-wideband systems. The modification is made by attaching a pair of meandered slotlines to the upper ends of the small bow-tie slot. With a proper slotline length, the impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna can be adjusted to cover the entire ultra-wideband and the antenna size remains compact. Moderate in-band antenna gains and bi-directional broadside radiation patterns are also measured and presented.
