Abstract :
This paper presents a new AC/DC converter scheme to achieve a high power factor operation. The new AC/DC converter consists of two 12-pulse bridge converters in series: the diode rectifier and the auxiliary converter. Compared with the conventional 12-pulse bridge converter, the proposed converter has distinct advantages of achieving high power factor operation and reducing the output voltage ripple.
