Abstract :
We present an approach to analyze the Talbot effect caused by chromatic dispersion up to the third order. A new method for compensation of chromatic dispersion up to the third order caused by propagation through the optical fiber is advanced. To the best of our knowledge, this method is the first that uses an optical post-equalization stage based on the temporal Talbot effect. Moreover, using this approach, we can easily implement a system doubling, tripling, ... the pulse rate of an initial periodic signal.
