Abstract
At the Multimedia Information and Mobile Agent Research Lab. At the University of Ottawa, we have designed and developed a multimedia interactive telelearning system (MITS). It is entirely based on the object-oriented paradigm, new trends in multimedia computing and the utilization of advanced technologies. It aims at providing students with a seamless environment for facilitating education process and satisfying their learning needs. The main components of MITS are a media production center, a courseware authoring site, a courseware database server, a multimedia database server, courseware presentation agents and an on-line facilitator. The courseware data model and MITS´s database schema are described. An overview of the system architecture is presented
