Abstract
Vodafone, China Mobile and Huawei have started a joint green technology programme to advance renewable energy application in wireless networks to reduce diesel consumption and to contribute substantially to CO2 emission reduction. Three experimental BTS sites, an NFB PV site, a macro BTS PV-diesel site and a distributed BTS PV-wind site, were set up to verify and optimize system design and implementation. By computation and real operation, the power reliabilities of the three sites are 100% with fewer costs in terms of 3-year TCO in comparison to dual D.G. systems respectively. The CO2 emission can be reduced greatly.
