Abstract
The physics behind the lubricant transfer from disk to slider is explained based on the lubricant transfer model proposed by Marchon. The effects of some important parameters, such as slider air bearing pressure and its gradient on the lubricant transfer are also explained and involved in the calculations. The strategies of slider design to minimize the lubricant transfer are proposed.
