Abstract
A new slotted monopole antenna is designed and fabricated to meet the requirements for the 5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN applications. The presented microstrip antenna has a wideband, operating in the frequency range from 3.1 GHz to 9 GHz. The antenna exhibits a small size of 13 × 9.5 mm2 and wide bandwidth of almost 100%. The radiation characteristics of the antenna single element and the linear array are also investigated and presented.
