Abstract
A nonlinear adaptive guidance law is derived for the model of planar missile interception. The proposed guidance law guarantees that the missile can intercept a maneuverable target with unknown constant (piece-wise constant) angular velocity. Compared with the previous results, the proposed one efficiently use the measurable information, and does not need to use variable structure control terms to circumvent the motion uncertainty of the target, and thus is smooth and can be easily implemented. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed guidance law.
