Abstract
In this paper, several schemes for field-oriented control (FOC) of induction machines without speed sensors are compared. First, a review of the different speed estimation techniques is presented. Then FOC drives using each estimation method are simulated. Finally the results are compared, following a set of criteria which allow to assign “figures of merit” that can be used to choose the proper scheme, depending on the specific application
