Abstract
Lithium battery had the merits of small size, high power density, high per unit voltage, low self-discharging and low resistance, no effect of memory, and was widely used in hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) drive system as the power. It was sensitive to its voltage, current and temperature, traditional lithium protection and charging circuits exposed their shortcomings due to design defects. Full-digital smart management system based on digital signal processor (DSP)TMS320LF2407A and charging system based on PFC (power factor correction) of lithium battery were developed, DSP2407A was the core of the system. Experiment results prove that the smart management system can protect lithium battery effectively, charging system based on PFC can decrease current distortion greatly.
