Abstract :
More and more real-time applications need more efficient labeling algorithm. A new component-labeling method RCL (Run and Contour based Labeling algorithm) is presented in this paper. This method adopts run technique, contour tracing technique and bit operation. These technologies eliminate completely the dependency of neighbor pixels´ information. Experiment on various types of images shows that our algorithm outperforms the traditional contour tracing algorithms and it is robust, stable.
