The automatic generating of software for monitoring and control systems

Industrial automation is a subject which is of crucial importance all over the world. The further development of production is not possible without application of the most up-to-date knowledge about technology. This trend is especially remarkable in the application of information technology in the monitoring and controlling of technological processes (in the area also known as industrial informatics). If we consider the specific features of this area-low repetition and individuality, data processing in real-time and in a multitasking mode, the implementation of software is not trivial. This is the reason that, today, most of these applications are not programmed but generated by CAD, CAP or CASE systems. This article presents a software generator, named GAuS-II (Generator of Automation Systems, 2nd generation), which has been created as a concrete response to the actual need to solve this problem. This generator uses a new method for specification of the application and the software implementation. At the end of the article, a concrete practical application of the GAuS-II system is presented
