Abstract
A method to measure the absolute frequencies of molecular transitions in the mid-infrared region is presented. The method is based on a mid-infrared cw optical parametric oscillator, which can be used for sub-Doppler molecular spectroscopy at ~ 3.4 μm while being phase-coherently linked to an optical frequency comb in the visible/near-infrared.
