Abstract :
This paper presents a study for optimizing a hot strip rolling mill. The mathematical modeling and programming with a simulation language of the hot strip rolling mill is developed. Results of modeling and simulation carried out at APSA Hot Strip Rolling Mill Plant located in San Nicolk, Buenos Aires, are presented. The model has been validated through analysis of performance curves obtained by simulation and confronting these with plant value curves and tables provided by APSA. The model obtained includes system significant parameters and variables which accurately represent the actual plant performance
