Abstract
This paper discusses an agent architecture for investigating visualized simulated human activity and behaviour affecting pedestrian flows within a shopping environment. Behavioural concepts for the pedestrian model will be introduced with the emphasis on a particular behavioral principle specified as perceptual field. The approach will lead to a system that may serve as a decision support tool in the design process for a better understanding what a design looks like.
