Abstract
By using a switching approach, the problem of generating a rectangular periodic orbit from two two-dimensional continuous autonomous systems is considered. By analyzing state trajectory of each planar system, a switching law is designed to generate a periodic orbit by switching between non-periodic planar systems. Numerical examples illustrate the validity of the approach.
