Abstract
An analysis of the near-field radar cross section of a metallic plate at oblique incident angle is presented using physical optics integration. This analysis is validated by experimental results obtained in an anechoic chamber. Furthermore, the results show that by using multiple receiving antennas, one can increase the angular range of radar systems and reduce the standard deviation of the target response. This work has potential applications in automotive collision warning/avoidance radar systems.
